The Impact of Volunteers

NDOW volunteers are essential in allowing us to reach our wildlife and habitat conservation goals. Volunteer efforts are extremely valuable to NDOW, not just because of the physical labor, but also because of the federal in-kind match that hours and miles generate. Did you know, just one volunteer hour is worth $46.69 and each mile is valued at $0.725? The US Fish and Wildlife Service matches this at a rate of 3:1. These funds are important in supporting conservation work. Nevada’s wildlife and wild places will benefit from the hours and miles contributed for years to come!

In 2025, there were 1,065 project volunteers that worked 19,410 hours. This generated over $906,000 in in-kind match! Thank you to everyone who made an impact.
