Help us bring water to wildlife the weekend of September 19-20! Join NDOW and the Fraternity of the Desert Bighorn to build a guzzler. A guzzler is constructed to provide a reliable water source to wildlife. This build will be a helicopter build. All participants must be at least 12 years of age to board the helicopter. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. We will meet at the staging area then be transported via helicopter to the build site. This build will be on the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR). Advance security clearance is required and badges will need to be created for all those in attendance. If you do not have a Real ID, you will not be able to attend this guzzler build. No exceptions.

The existing Spotted #5 guzzler is comprised of a 4 tank system with a capacity of 1,800 gallons per tank. We will updating the guzzler to an 8 tank system with a capacity of 2,300 gallons per tank. Volunteers must be able to walk on uneven terrain, step up/down into a helicopter, and work outdoors in a remote location for extended periods of time.
Tools and materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Bring plenty of water, food/snacks, and work gloves. Dress in layers, as the weather can be cold in the morning and warm up in the afternoon. Wear comfortable work/hiking boots, layers, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
