Volunteers will assist NDOW fisheries biologists in conducting the fall Razorback Sucker survey in Lake Mohave. Volunteers should be comfortable on a boat for the entirety of the survey and be able to use hand dexterity in managing nets. Work requires standing, bending, and lifting. We will launch from Cottonwood Cove Boat Launch.
The afternoon session will consist of setting trammel nets from 4pm to completion. The nets will sit overnight. The next morning, we will pull nets from 8:30am to completion. The morning sessions involve untangling fish from nets, measuring and weighing them, and recording data.
Surveys are weather dependent and dates are subject to change. Contact Michelle Lopez with any questions at michelle.lopez@ndow.org or (702) 539-4070.
